Shopping for a compound miter saw can be a headache, especially if you’re on a budget. Most people need to be able to transport the saw or at least move it outside the garage once in a while. At the same time everyone needs power tools that are, in fact, powerful. Above all, a compound miter saw should be accurate, well-made and durable. Finding an affordable model with all of those qualities is not an easy task, to say the least.
Fortunately, there’s one low-budget saw able to fulfill the needs of any DIY handyman, farmer, craftsman or even a professional carpenter. The Ryobi ZRTS1345L combines all of the aforementioned features, plus some very impressive extras and accessories. As far as value goes, you just won’t find more ‘bang for your buck’.
Fine-Tuned for Accuracy
The most impressive part of our experience with the 10 inch Ryobi compound meter saw is the pinpoint accuracy it provides. Without making any adjustments (out of the box), you’re able to make smooth miter cuts in a 4×4. Bevel cuts performed before any adjustments were accurate to the nearest tenth of a degree.
There are 3 features accounting for the ZRTS1345L’s amazing accuracy and the resulting smooth edges. Firstly, the Ryobi bevel scale is visible from either side of the blade, allowing for improved precision. Plus, the built-in laser guide and D-shaped easy-grip handle maximize saw control. Finally, this light-weight, portable saw is powered by an impressive 14-amp motor. It spins the blade at 5,000rpm, leaving edges polished, no matter what kind of wood is being implemented.
Ryobi’s stock accessories are truly high-quality. The carbide-tipped 10” blade they include goes right through tough materials like hardwood and aluminium without skipping a beat. It is one of the very few portable saws featuring an electric brake. Furthermore, it is the only 10-inch model that offers the convenience of changing blades with a single wrench. In addition to a laser guide and a carbide blade, the ZRTS1345L is sold with adjustable sliding guide, and a hex wrench.

For those of us who appreciate craftsmanship, using the Ryobi is bound to be a true pleasure. The buyer reviews are almost synonymous about the top-notch accuracy they achieve with this saw. A reviewer who has been using the ZRTS1345L for industrial purposes stated that, after almost three years of regular use the saw was still dead-on accurate. The only drawback is that the dust collection bag is only partly functional. Admittedly, that is a fairly common issue that can be fixed with a shop-vac. To sum it up we can’t recommend this saw enough! Buy with confidence – this is one purchase you will never regret.
